 Some evenings, a whole novel feels like too much to begin. But a short story? You can open one after dinner, follow a stranger into an unfamiliar place, and reach the last page before the night is over. The story may be short. The question it leaves behind might stay much longer. At Nabiwabook, we publish Korean short fiction in Korean and English. Some of our stories are mysterious; others take a turn you may not expect. You can read the English translation on its own, or turn to the Korean text and see how a moment sounds in another language. This blog is a place to spend a little more time with those stories. Welcome to Nabiwabook: Korean Stories in English

  A story can begin in one language and find a new reader in another. Nabiwabook is an independent publisher in South Korea. We publish Korean short fiction in bilingual Korean and English editions, bringing together the original story and its English translation in one book. Our stories move across genres and moods. Some begin with a mystery. Others follow an unsettling question, an unexpected transformation, or a choice that stays with the reader after the final page. Each book is an invitation to spend time with a story and see where it leads. Why publish in two languages? We want readers to have more than one way into a story. You can read it in English, turn to the Korean text when you are curious, or move between the two. You do not need to study Korean to enjoy the book. You can simply start reading.
